Create a key, upload your voice and generate audio in the API playground or your application. Both use the same price and metering. Review every request in Usage.
How billing works
| Event | Billing treatment |

| Successful speech request | Valid, available trial characters first, subject to the daily allowance; remaining characters use paid balance. |
| Rejected or failed request | No charge. A reservation is released after execution is confirmed stopped. |
| Repeat with the same idempotency key and input | Return the retained result without another generation or charge. |
| Expired result | 410. The original request never runs again under that key. |
| What counts as a character? | Normalize line endings and Unicode NFC, trim the edges, then count Unicode code points—including internal spaces and punctuation. This is not UTF-8 byte billing. Some emoji count as several characters. |
A paid 100-character request costs $0.0012. Retrying the same request with the same idempotency key does not charge again. Read the retry guide →
Prices are in USD. Your final amount is shown in Checkout before payment. Paid credits have no scheduled expiry in this release and can only be spent on Voice API usage. Contact support through your CastReader account for payment or unused-credit questions.
Voice API credits are separate from CastReader Pro. Short queued tasks are available. Long-form generation, streaming, realtime and automatic recharge are not included in the current preview. No latency or uptime SLA is included.
